Pantone 2014 Color of the year is Radiant Orchid

I’m sure you’ve heard the news already but can we all cheer again to the new official color of the year for 2014 Pantone Radiant Orchid. The name Orchid, otherwise known as the Orchidaceae plant, is a diverse and widespread family of flowering plants with blooms that are often colorful and fragrant. I have to say I am thrilled about seeing the new ways this fresh and exhilarating Radiant Orchid color will be implemented into weddings, birthdays, parties and more. Radiant Orchid seems to exude a festive purple, pink and magenta color mixed together with sparkles of daring, vibrant, and bold allure. One of the things I personally love about this palette is how versatile this color has the ability to fit into a wide variety of styles. You can go glam with it or take it down by incorporating it in a dark and dramatic palette. As many of you know last year’s lovely Pantone Color of 2013 was emerald, and just from the buzz going around the blogosphere from wedding bloggers, such as The Perfect Palette and Burnetts Boards, I’m sure this color will be a popular wedding color to remember this year.

In order to go with the celebration I decided to create an inspiration board that features this color tied with a white, green, and neutral color palette. I love the idea of adding personality to the wedding by using this color in an ombre style which you can see throughout the bridesmaids dresses and wedding cake, along with incorporating a colorful rustic theme through incorporating old fashioned barrels and vases along the base of the ceremony aisle as seen below next to the beautiful bride.

Wedding Details to Love

There isn’t an ombre wedding cake that I don’t love. The way the colors go from a light to dark contrast creates such a gorgeous cake design that requires little details to make it noteworthy.
