Noah: I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who’s ever lived: I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough.
For those of us Notebook lovers, outspoken obsessors, and the closet admirers these are the first words in the movie you become enchanted by. Oh Noah, he speaks in such a confident tone it’s hard not to fall in love with his character.
It was the summer before my first year in middle school that I first fell in love with The Notebook. With it’s PG-13 rating I knew my parents surely wouldn’t allow me to watch it until I could somehow beg someone more mature to rent it on DVD so I too could sense what fans and critics were all buzzing about the movie……Ryan Gosling… okay aside from the comments of how attractive Ryan Gosling was I wanted to see the movie for what it was.
Sneaky as I was back then I somehow managed to find a way to watch this movie despite my parents initial ratings hesitation and 10 years later, The Notebook still reigns as one of my favorite movies of all time.
It should come as no surprise to you as to what today’s Pick a Flick movie inspiration board will reflect. Today I decided to commemorate one of my favorite movies that carried it’s way to being the top throughout my early stages of adolescence into young adulthood. This Notebook Inspiration Board is filled with details any notebook fan would love including vintage design seen throughout the red getaway car, vintage calligraphy, and old fashioned appeal.
