Marcelle and Colin, who met in the break room at work and then started going on lunch dates, decided to go for a rustic, farm-style wedding at the mountainous Chalet View Lodge. “I was watching a lot of ‘Fixer Upper’ at the time,” Marcelle says, referring to the HGTV show.
“My favorite details were the antique wood frames with eucalyptus sprigs that held the seating chart,” she says, and Marcelle dyed cheesecloth for her table runners as a DIY touch. But most importantly, she says, “At one point I had a realization that all my favorite people were here all together for us and that I would probably never have that again. I really tried to soak it all in. The first look was also a very special memory.”
For couples planning their weddings, Marcelle says, “Stay organized. It seems simple, but I wasted a lot of time doubling back, and time will fly.”
