One of the ways to make a wedding feel more personal is to incorporate important elements that speak to you as a couple. I adore how the bride and groom incorporated their families help in making their day remarkable. Jordan’s parents built the chuppah the couple was married under, which held a special meaning to the couple due to its significance within his family. Christine and Jordan are a really laid back and sweet couple. Their main focus of the wedding was to have a fun celebration and spend quality time with their closest friends and family.Christine is Canadian, so many of her family travelled from Canada for her wedding with Jordan. As a nod to Jordan’s Jewish background, they incorporated several Jewish traditions into their wedding.
The chuppah was built by Jordan’s mother and father and it was especially special for them because many other family members of Jordan’s were married under the same chuppah. Christine and Jordan love to travel, and they had heard of a Scottish hand-fasting ceremony they wanted to incorporate into their ceremony. During the ceremony, the couple’s parents and immediate family walked up to them and tied their hands together with a ribbon and gave their marriage a blessing. It was a very touching and interactive tradition during their ceremony.
Christine’s late grandmother was very special to her and loved peonies. As a nod to her grandmother, Christine had several peonies displayed throughout the venue, so she could be there in spirit. Jordan’s mother is a very skilled designer by trade and created the printed menus for the wedding as well as the beautiful, rustic table assignment board. A family friend of Jordan’s family actually made the challah that was blessed and presented at the wedding.
